Dtex, gauge, what’s that?

You may not be familiar with these terms, and that’s normal. To understand them better, take a few minutes and read the following lines carefully. Dtex, whose real name is Decitex, measures the linear density of synthetic fibers. It’s an indication of the weight in grams of 10,000 meters of fiber. These fibers are made up of several strands. The higher the Dtex, the more robust, durable and wear-resistant the fibers, while the gauge refers to the spacing between the rows of woven fibers in synthetic turf. It is measured in fractions of an inch (3/8, 5/8, 3/16, etc.). A smaller gauge indicates that the fibers are closer together, which increases the density of the turf.
